Miami Homes For All, Inc. (MHFA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure all Miami-Dade residents have a safe, affordable place to call home. We seek a passionate, collaborative, and detail-oriented individual to support MHFA’s housing programs and advocacy efforts. The Housing Policy Analyst (HPA) will play a key role in the planning, implementing, and coordinating housing initiatives that advance production and access to affordable housing in Miami-Dade County. This position offers the opportunity to engage directly with residents, community stakeholders, and the public.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Policy Research and Analysis Conduct in-depth research on local, state, and federal housing, land use, and homelessness policies. Track legislation, ordinances, and budget items relevant to affordable housing, homelessness, tenant protections, and land justice. Analyze and synthesize data and research to produce memos, briefs, and presentations for internal and external audiences. Support the development of MHFA’s policy positions and recommendations in collaboration with staff and partners. Program and Organizational Support Contribute to the development of advocacy strategies, campaigns, and public education efforts. Assist in preparing talking points, testimony, and correspondence with elected officials and public agencies. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community-based organizations, policy allies, and residents. Support the implementation of housing-related programs and policy pilots that align with MHFA’s strategic goals. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment between policy and program activities. Assist in organizing policy-focused meetings, events, or forums with stakeholders and the public. Help maintain internal tracking systems for legislative monitoring, deliverables, and impact metrics. Administrative Support Provide limited administrative assistance to the Director of Housing Advocacy and Community Engagement, including scheduling and note-taking for policy-related meetings. Contribute to grant proposals and reports, especially those related to policy initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required; degree in urban planning, public policy, sociology, social work, or a related field is a plus. 1-3 years of experience working in affordable housing, community development, advocacy, or a related area preferred. Strong commitment to racial, social, and housing justice. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) is a plus but not required. Experience with community engagement or coalition work is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with Google Workspace.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Work Environment. This position typically requires a combination of remote, office-based, and fieldwork. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be necessary for community engagement. Benefits.
