My client are a forward-thinking civil engineering consultancy that specialises in transport planning and highway design. This is a fantastic opportunity for either a Graduate or Assistant Transport Planner looking to join a highly experienced team working on a variety of exciting transport and infrastructure projects across the UK. With a strong emphasis on training, mentoring and progression, you’ll have the chance to make a real impact from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
- Prepare Travel Plans and assist with Travel Plan coordination
- Analyse and present technical data and drawings
- Undertake junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and local/ authorities
- Support the delivery of advice to clients on highways and transport matters
- Conduct site appraisals and surveys, and contribute to reports and presentations
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation (both digital and paper)
- Assist with other transport-related tasks as directed by your team leader
What We’re Looking For:
Education /
Background:
- Degree in Transport Planning, Geography, or Civil Engineering (essential)
- Understanding or experience of UK Transport Planning standards and processes (essential)
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a similar consultancy environment
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Comfortable working with numerical data and spreadsheets
- Experience with ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG (essential)
- AutoCAD experience (desirable)

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident communication skills (written and verbal)
