HDR is hiring a Transportation Planning Section Manager to support our Northwest Florida Planning practice. This position can be based in our Pensacola or Tallahassee office. Primary Responsibilities Lead on-going and new planning projects for Northwest Florida Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support Function as a Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities Provide oversight of the transportation planning staff located in the Pensacola and Tallahassee offices Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections Continue to build a growing, multi-disciplinary planning team, with special attention to developing internal staff for future project manager/deputy project manager roles Select, train, develop and manage technical personnel Work in partnership with National Directors, Regional Business Development Directors and Client Managers to develop a short-term marketing action plan for longer-term program development Participate in marketing planning, proposals and interviews Provide overall support to area leadership to maintain the regional transportation planning practice profitability, staff development, and client relationships Will have direct involvement with industry and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues Travel to other HDR offices or client offices Will be expected to participate in HDR National Practice Groups, Industry Associations, and Civic Organizations Must maintain current knowledge of related Federal, State, and Local guidelines, regulations and policies. #LI-JS6 Preferred Qualifications American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), or Professional Engineer (PE), or Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) Prior team leadership experience Experience working with or for FDOT and Florida cities or counties Strong interpersonal communication, public speaking, and group facilitation skills Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience A minimum of 10 years experience Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role Strong communication and listening skills Ability to handle multiple assignments Good leadership and organizational skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
