About the Position The Corradino Group is seeking an experienced Urban Planner II to join our planning team in Miami, FL. This role requires a professional with 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in comprehensive planning, entitlement review, and urban design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban design principles and be ready to contribute to developing innovative, sustainable, and community-focused planning solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Review and process land use applications and development proposals
  • Analyze zoning regulations and prepare recommendations for boards, commissions, and governing bodies
  • Manage complex planning projects from inception to completion
  • Prepare and present staff reports, planning analyses, and recommendations for public hearings and internal review
  • Conduct and interpret planning research, including demographic, socioeconomic, and land use data
  • Evaluate development proposals for urban design compatibility, form, and neighborhood integration
  • Lead or support the preparation of comprehensive plans, small area studies, and urban design frameworks
  • Create high-quality graphics, maps, and visualizations to communicate planning and design concepts
  • Assist in preparing illustrative site plans, street sections, rendered maps, and concept diagrams
  • Develop and maintain GIS maps and spatial databases; conduct spatial analysis to inform planning decisions
  • Contribute to the development and application of form-based codes, design guidelines, and public realm strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies, and community stakeholders across disciplines
  • Ensure compliance with local ordinances, state statutes, and federal regulations
  • Provide technical guidance and customer service to developers, property owners, and the general public
  • Deliver on-site staff support services to local government clients as assigned
  • Participate in long-range and strategic planning, including plan updates and implementation strategies
  • Facilitate public engagement, workshops, and stakeholder coordination efforts Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of professional planning experience with a focus on comprehensive planning, development review, and urban design integration
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply zoning codes, comprehensive plans, and land development regulations
  • Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, including the ability to present complex material to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Thorough knowledge of planning principles, development regulations, and urban design best practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ArcGIS Pro
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and/or SketchUp
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Highly Desirable Qualifications
  • Advanced GIS skills (ArcGIS Pro, QGIS) and experience with spatial analysis and mapping
  • Urban design background or specialized training in urban form, placemaking, or public realm design
  • Experience developing or implementing form-based codes, design guidelines, or urban design standards
  • Strong graphic production skills, including illustrative plans, sections, and conceptual design diagrams
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling and visualization software (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, Enscape)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Urban Footprint, or similar solutions, a plus
  • Experience facilitating public engagement, charrettes, and community workshops
  • Knowledge of context-sensitive planning, urban infill, and transit-oriented development strategies
AICP Certification Additional Requirements:

Ability to travel within Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and potentially to other jurisdictions. Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license Work Environment This in-office position requires regular attendance at one of our offices or client locations.
