  • Vice President of Planning Services We are seeking a Senior Municipal Planner with 7-10 years of experience in planning and project management to join our growing team in either Atlanta or Dallas.

This role is ideal for a candidate who brings a strong combination of municipal planning expertise, project leadership, and a passion for working directly with clients and stakeholders to shape dynamic, data-driven solutions. This is a senior-level position responsible for managing client relationships, leading cross-functional project teams, and supporting business development efforts across a range of sectors—including municipal/city planning, K-12 and higher education, manufacturing, logistics, and public sector work.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • + Serve as a trusted planning advisor to clients by providing strategic, technical, and design-forward solutions tailored to organizational needs.

+ Lead planning projects from concept to completion, including scheduling, budget oversight, deliverables, and quality control. + Collaborate with the Vice President of Planning Services on overall department strategy, client engagement, and team development. + Oversee and mentor internal planning team(s), delegating tasks effectively and ensuring high-quality performance across multiple projects. + Develop and maintain client relationships that lead to repeat business and new project opportunities. + Respond to RFPs/RFQs, participate in interviews, and support proposal development efforts. + Integrate facilities assessment data and capital planning tools into larger planning strategies. + Partner with Program Management teams to align planning services with design and implementation efforts in multi-year programs. + Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, stakeholders, and the public through clear written documents, presentations, and visual tools. + Travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, workshops, and public engagement—estimated at 30-50%.

  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • + Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, GIS, or related field required + 7-10 years of experience in professional planning and/or municipal consulting with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.

+ Experience managing multidisciplinary planning projects for K-12 schools, higher education, manufacturing/distribution, or public-sector clients strongly preferred. + Proficient in Microsoft Office, GIS tools, and database management; experience with Adobe Creative Suite or other design software a plus. + Demonstrated success in leading RFP responses and client interviews. + Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills—including public presentations. + Proven track record in marketing, business development, and growing client accounts. + Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly.
