RATE:
$24/hour, with overtime after 40 hours of work in a week
JOB OVERVIEW
The Print Traffic and QC Coordinator supports the Exhibition Team in print traffic leading up to and during the 63rd New York Film Festival (NYFF). Duties include supporting the logistics of transporting inbound and outbound moving image materials, tracking the external and internal movement of these assets amongst the various NYFF venues, and representing the Exhibition team on site in the run up and during the Festival. The applicant will need to conduct basic media checks, keep the various print traffic databases up to date, liaise with the FLC projection team, and work closely with the Senior Coordinator of Exhibition and Programming. The applicant must be technically literate, detail oriented, and should thrive in a fast-paced environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Liaise with print sources to ensure the timely delivery of any necessary assets; Accept and process film shipments and downloads according to Festival priorities; Update the print traffic database (AWB information, formats, exhibition technical details); Backup media for all festival films to NYFF backup infrastructure; Conduct thorough media quality checks from workstation and in-cinema technical checks, compiling all relevant presentation related notes; Verify and log KDMs for encrypted DCPs; Assist in the compilation of media for NYFF Talks; Deliver media and technical information to the various NYFF venues, on campus and partners; Complete other administrative and programming department support tasks as assigned; Prepare outbound shipments; Participate in the Exhibition team post mortem wrap meeting, which includes; Submitting a brief wrap report at the conclusion of the festival; Presenting a pending outbound shipments list on the last day of employment.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
At least a year of experience handling both analog and digital film formats, including the basic elements of DCP technical standards. Experience with international import/export shipping and Federal Express software preferred. Must be comfortable with heavy lifting (i.e. 50 lb. parcel) Previous print traffic experience at a film festival is preferred. Experience with Eventival or a similar festival database is a plus. Proficient in the Google Suite of office products (Mail, Calendar, Chat, Docs, Sheets, etc) Excellent oral and written communication skills Detail-oriented and organized. Ability to work independently. Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends as driven by the pre-festival testing and festival calendar.
