We are currently seeking a Senior Land Planner role in our York, NY office. The Senior Land Planner 3 will lead the design efforts and act as the project manager on most projects, with minimal project management support from more senior staff. There will be a responsibility for working closely with both internal team colleagues, as well as other IMEG land development professionals that are involved in the land development process for the respective project. Primary responsibilities will include plan design, plan processing and plan implementation through the project design process. In this position, the expectation is to manage the project’s budget to meet the project goals and client expectations. The role will also involve leading and mentoring the team’s planner graduates and project planners. Principal Responsibilities Completes and reviews land planning and zoning research and calculations for associated plans and studies
Prepares and reviews land use and zoning analysis summary memos and site evaluation studies
Completes and reviews entitlement drawing submission packages
Reviews various exhibits, presentation graphics and renderings
Completes and reviews lot yield sketches and master plans
Completes and reviews technical support tasks for condemnation project work
Project management for most site projects, including budgeting, scheduling, billing, determining staff needs, attending meetings and addressing client concerns and deliverables
Train, mentor and motivate staff
Build, maintain and develop client relationships
Assist with the preparation of proposals and participate in project interviews and presentations Required Skills/Abilities Skilled in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and SketchUp
Strong research and technical design skills
Strong analysis and problem solving skills, with an attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent organizational skills, particularly with regard to project management
Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
Ability to mentor, train, motivate and lead others
Demonstrates leadership traits in the Project Management career path
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook Education and Experience Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Planning, Environment Studies, Architecture, or Arts, or equivalent required
14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in land development American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification preferred OR Associates degree, or certificate, in Planning, Environmental Studies, Geography, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Art, or equivalent preferred
18 years of experience minimum required, 20 preferred, in land development
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification preferred
This position is not eligible for sponsorship Salary Range $142,000 – $207,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
