Full Job Description Overview:
Kimley-Horn’s is seeking a Transportation Planner with 2+ years of experience to join the Pittsburgh, PA office!
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the production and delivery of multi-modal transportation systems planning, including data collection, analysis, and technical reporting. Tasks and projects may include multi-modal corridor concept development, bicycle and pedestrian analysis and improvement concept development, multi-modal transportation analyses and design, transit operations planning and design, and community outreach. Support all steps of a transportation planning project, including: Initial data gathering and needs identification Goals setting and visioning Development of recommended strategies and design concepts Prioritization and cost estimating Development of technical and public-facing documentation and presentations Project experiences will be diverse, as we provide services to both the public and private sectors Perform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a related field Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as urban planning, transportation planning, or similar Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to write and communicate findings clearly Demonstrated experience in oral presentations and public speaking Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Working knowledge of ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and/or StoryMap Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines High attention to detail Critical thinking and analytical skills Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment Ability to work independently and as a team Why Kimley-Horn?: At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
