Dorman Products Job Summary + The primary goal of this position is to effectively manage all freight-related issues to ensure smooth and timely operations. + The role involves optimizing customer orders for truckloads, focusing on profitable and efficient routing strategies. + Your responsibility will include maintaining quality control over shipping orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Primary Duties + Conduct regular quality control checks on shipping orders, addressing any discrepancies that arise to uphold service excellence. + Coordinate with carriers for pickups, ensuring that schedules align with business needs and customer expectations. + Support the completion of logs and customer orders by verifying information and confirming details with relevant stakeholders. + Maintain accurate UPS and Federal Express manifests, facilitating smooth shipping operations and record keeping. + Provide general customer service from the initial order stage through to receipt, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the shipping process. + Recommend reliable freight carriers to customers and oversee all export shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations. + Handle all paperwork related to shipping, including preparing and verifying bills of lading to ensure accurate record-keeping. + Input vital shipping data into the AS/400 system, contributing to efficient data management and reporting. + Carry out routine office duties such as filing, data entry, and ordering supplies, ensuring an organized work environment. + Engage with company representatives to renegotiate pricing and service levels, playing a key role in maintaining vendor relationships. + Update and maintain the NAFTA certificate of origin for each export customer, ensuring compliance with applicable trade legislation. Qualifications + Strong analytical skills to read, understand, and interpret various business documents, technical manuals, and applicable regulations. + Proficient writing skills to prepare reports, business communications, and procedure manuals that convey clear information. + Excellent presentation skills to effectively communicate information and address inquiries from managers, clients, and the public. + Competency in mathematical calculations such as percentages, volume, and proportions to evaluate shipping costs accurately. + Understanding of algebra and geometry to apply solutions effectively in logistical scenarios. + Problem-solving abilities to gather data, analyze information, and derive accurate conclusions in fast-paced environments. + Ability to interpret complex technical instructions and manage multiple variables in shipping logistics.

Education / Experience

+ A minimum of a one-year certificate from a college or technical school, demonstrating foundational knowledge relevant to transportation logistics. + Preferably, 3-6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination that demonstrates capability in this field.
