Qualified candidates will participate in the following: Two-week Reinsurance Fundamentals course Tools, resources and monetary incentives to obtain an actuarial designation through The Casualty Actuarial Society. Essential Functions Gain a solid understanding of Odyssey’s actuarial philosophy, values and mission Create and cultivate relationships throughout the organization Work alongside with actuaries and underwriters to analyze treaty reinsurance submissions Obtain, update and verify data for the ORH Group annual reserve analyses by effectively interacting with Reinsurance Accounting, Claims and Underwriting departments Assist with the preparation of ORH Group reserve analyses Obtain, update and verify data for quarterly roll forward of reserve analyses, and implement changes to loss ratios as approved by the Chief Reserving Actuary Prepare quarterly reserve/roll forward documentation and confer with Chief Reserving Actuary regarding same Prepare analyses from various divisional databases to support management’s review of individual claim reserving Support completion of GAAP and statutory filings, i.e. quarterly and annual statements Work on special projects within the department, as necessary

Skills, Knowledge & Ability:

Effective analytical and problem-solving skills; heavy focus on mathematical coursework a plus Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written Excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to influence, overcome obstacles and develop positive business relationships Strong attention to detail Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (experience with R, Python, or SQL also recommended) Discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi task/prioritize A self-starter and entrepreneurial mindset Ability to exercise good judgement and decision-making Sustain a good attitude and willingness to learn, develop and grow professionally

Education/Experience:

Bachelor degree in a related field, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 Internship/work experience during college years Completion of P, FM a plus #LI-Hybrid We are an E-Verify employer – all hired positions require successfully passing an E-Verify Check.
