AVP, Reinsurance Reserving Actuar y New York, New York Who We Ar e SiriusPoint is a global underwriter of insurance and reinsurance. We have underwriting hubs in Bermuda, Liege, London, New York, Stockholm and Toronto, and licenses to write Property & Casualty and Accident & Health insurance and reinsurance globally. Join Our Team We are looking for a highly motivated, performance oriented, individual to join our team as AVP, Reserving Actuary. The role will report to the Chief Reserving Actuary and work primarily with the actuarial teams in both the US and International offices.
Your responsibilities will include:
Significant involvement and responsibility in SiriusPoint’s quarterly loss reserving process, including the following: A pplying actuarial techniques to estimate outstanding liabilities P roducing high-quality reserving estimates A ssisting with GAAP, US and Bermuda Statutory Financial Reporting P reparing analyses and reports C ommunicating results to management and other stakeholders S upporting profitability continually reinforcing the reserving-pricing feedback loop I mproving and innovating on all aspects of the process P reparing and validating data T raining and development of junior team members United behind common goals At SiriusPoint we work as one team across our global business, and we unite that team behind common goals, understanding the positive impact we can all make at SiriusPoint . Collaboration drives outperformance Your skills and abilities should include: An actuarial credential (e.g.
FCAS, ACAS
), or solid progress towards achieving one 5+ years of experience in loss reserving, with experience in programs and/or reinsurance a plus Knowledge of accounting and finance preferre d Exceptional problem solving and communication skills A track record of high performance Strong work ethic and teamwork mindset Must have ability to be self-motivated, work independently, and multi-task on a variety of assignment Programming/coding skills (SQL, Python, R, etc.) preferred
SALARY:
The estimated salary range for this position is $ 170,000 per year to $ 185,000 per year. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only.
