Role Summary:
The Pension Actuarial Associate is part of the Actuarial Consulting Department. They work as part of a team to provide financial and regulatory guidance to organizations who sponsor Defined Benefit/Defined Contribution plans and support the Pension Risk Transfer business. The Pension Actuarial Associate serves as a key resource for the lead consulting actuaries by managing workflow, reviewing all deliverables, and providing decision-ready analysis that help plan sponsors meet funding, regulatory, and participant-service obligations.
Responsibilities:
Lead annual pension valuation work including PPA valuations, ASC-715/GASB reports and government filings Price Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) transactions including reviewing RFPs, underwriting population mortality risks, producing cashflows and calculating reserves/premiums Prepare New Comparability design/testing for Defined Contribution plans and other compliance support for Defined Benefit plans Support plan implementations, amendments, and terminations, including data conversion, liability estimates, and settlement calculations Draft and deliver presentations to clients and general consulting with plan sponsor Delegate and coach junior colleagues on actuarial techniques, software use, and best-practice documentation Evaluate and interpret plan document provisions and actuarial results Perform related tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree 5+ years of pension actuarial experience in a client service environment Strong analytical, communication and project management skills Competency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with actuarial software such as
ProVal Preferred Qualifications:
Actuarial exams passed are a plus, but not required Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel VBA and macros Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally Proactive and self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to anticipate needs and identify opportunities for improvement Able to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment What we offer you: Competitive base salary Annual Bonus Comprehensive Benefits Package (medical, dental, and vision) that starts day one of employment. 401

20 days plus two floating personal holidays The salary range below describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this role. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, whereby total compensation may exceed this range depending on individual and / or company performance.
