Director of Business Analytics 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 501 East Camino Real, Boca Raton, FL 33432 Summary A key member of the Resort’s Finance Team; the Director of Business Analytics is focused on improving existing and proposed business processes, budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, data integration, F&B cost control, and systems training and development. Has a strong passion for data and driving results, and possesses strong, high-level strategic capabilities, a strong background in financial workflow, project mapping, and overall project management. Fosters a strong culture of teamwork, innovation, promoting new practices and ideas, and providing thought leadership on all aspects of business analytics, system integration, financial reporting, and data presentation. Works in a highly collaborative environment with colleagues in Finance, Operations, and Revenue Management to create cross-functional plans to integrate both on-line and off-line efforts within planning, reporting, and optimization initiatives. Essential Functions Planning, Forecasting, and Scheduling With the Executive Director of Finance, directs the development of the Annual Budget. Subsequently works with department heads in the preparation of their respective budgets. Participates in the preparation of financial data and analytics for executive presentations Directs a decentralized forecasting process whereby business unit leaders’ access and forecast balance of year performance monthly. Ensures optimization of the Unifocus labor scheduling tool and ensures the Daily Labor Summary Report is an accurate reflection of actual labor costs. Proactive in identifying negative trends occurring within a month. Assesses and approves the monthly and balance-of-year forecast prior to locking. Oversees the Labor Management System (LMS) to assure that actual results align with labor standards. Conducts weekly labor analysis meetings for the departmental managers. Coordinates the workflow and approval process for bonus and commission plans. Prepares accruals for commission plans as required by the financial controller. Assists in the operational support of resort systems such as ADP payroll and HR management, Infor/Sun ERP accounting and financial reporting, Concur expense report tracking, Unifocus employee time & attendance and labor management, WorkRecords contract labor time & attendance and reporting, Medallia customer experience capture, and Opera rooms reporting and upsell program tracking. Workforce Optimization Evaluates opportunities to improve productivity, cross-utilize Team Members, and pay for performance. Works with Human Resources to evaluate the impact of wage scale and benefit changes. Assesses outsourcing opportunities. Tracks and monitors internal and external staffing levels for employees, contract labor and H2B personnel. Determines opportunities to use AI Database Integration Constantly improves the automated delivery of actionable statistics (dashboards) and data to improve decision-making. Strives to eliminate redundant and manual reporting through optimization of point of sale, property management, and financial reporting systems. Seeks innovative data integration solutions to improve planning, scheduling, and reporting efficiency. F&B Cost Control Oversee the F&B Cost Analyst to ensure that systems and processes are in place to achieve theoretical food and beverage costs. Ensures the integration, and ongoing financial GL-related code mapping for BirchStreet, Agilysys, Unifocus, Sun ERP, and Infor EPM to optimize costs and improve productivity. Optimizes Commissary processes, recipes, inventories, Avendra compliance, and delivery schedules. Training and Development Ensure department managers are systemically using all available tools to their fullest potential including but not limited to: Sun, EPM, BirchStreet, Opera, Delphi Scheduling, Labor Productivity. Works with department managers to improve financial analytical capabilities and how to summarize financial performance in a thoughtful and impactful way. Conducts regularly scheduled workshops focused on the utilization and optimization of key operating and reporting systems. Internal Relationships Reports to the Director of Finance.

Asst. Dir. of Business Analytics, Sr. Financial Analyst, Operations Analyst External Relationships Has regular contact with all Resort leaders, outside consultants, and vendors, etc. Maintains appropriate relationships with these and other constituencies to enhance the image of the property and the attainment of its objectives. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive experience in managing Hospitality operations, finance, and/or information technology. Extensive knowledge of front and back-of-house Property Management, Point-of-Sale, and Financial Reporting Systems. Prolific in Excel, database including SQL, and MS-Office software operating systems and applications. Familiarity with Power BI, HTML and other coding languages a plus. Ability to assemble, analyze, understand, and present integrated spread sheets and complex technical information to all levels of management. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects. Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Proven leadership expertise with effective team building skills and conflict resolution management. Information research, analysis, and evaluation skills. Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse operation. Practices the highest level of discretion. Education/Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Technology, Hospitality, Business Administration, and/or Project Management preferred. Prior Business Analytics experience with a luxury Beach Resort, Cruise Ship, or Private Club. Physical Requirements Work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. frequently. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
