Job Description We are seeking adynamic, visionary leader to join the newly formed CommercialAnalytics & Insights (CA&I) organization as Head of DecisionScience team out of our Cambridge, MA office. As the Head ofDecision Science, you will lead the development and implementationof advanced analytics capabilities that transform data intostrategic insights across Takeda’s commercial activities.
You willoversee three critical teams:
Measurement, Simulation &Optimization, Patient Finding & Target Prioritization, andExperimental Design and Innovation. Reporting to the Head of AI,Data and Decision Science, you will collaborate withcross-functional partners including Brand/Marketing, Sales, MarketAccess, Patient Services, Finance, and Medical teams to deliveractionable insights that drive business performance and enhancepatient outcomes.
How you will contribute:
Vision Setting:
Establish a forward-thinking vision and strategy for decisionscience that aligns with business priorities, incorporating AImethodologies to enhance predictive capabilities and operationalefficiencies.
Team Development:
Build and lead a high-performinganalytics team skilled in AI and machine learning techniques,ensuring delivery of actionable insights and impactful solutions.
Innovation Advocacy:
Champion a culture of innovation, data-drivendecision-making, and accountability, encouraging the adoption ofevolving technologies to enhance analytics capabilities Lead anddevelop a high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, anddecision science professionals across the various decision sciencefunctions Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, andcontinuous improvement within the Decision Science organizationProvide mentorship and professional development opportunities tobuild team capabilities and advance careers Partner with the Headof AI, Data and Decision Science to align team objectives withoverall data strategy and business goals Manage resource allocationacross teams to optimize delivery of high-impact projects Leadmeasurement of historical performance and optimization of futurespending to improve execution across business units Overseedevelopment and application of solutions including Marketing MixModels, Resource Allocation Optimization, Promotion BudgetSimulation, and Test & Control methodologies Translate complexanalytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations forsenior business leaders Develop robust measurement frameworks thatquantify ROI of commercial initiatives Implement predictive modelsto forecast outcomes of strategic decisions and identify optimalresource allocation Partner with commercial leadership to ensureanalytics solutions address critical business challengesCollaborate with DD&T and other technology teams to ensure datainfrastructure supports advanced analytics needs Work closely withBrand Heads and BU I&A teams to understand key businessquestions and then deliver timely actionable insights thatfacilitate decision-making Represent Decision Science incross-functional leadership forums Demonstrate the value ofdecision science through clear communication of business impact and
ROI Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degreerequired, Advanced degree highly preferred (Master’s or PhD) inData Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, orrelated quantitative field; MBA is a plus 15 years of experience inanalytics, data science, or related fields with at least 5 years inleadership roles required 10 years of experience in pharmaceuticalor healthcare industry with understanding of data and analyticsrequired Proven track record leading analytics teams in a matrixorganization Experience implementing advanced analyticscapabilities that drive business outcomes Demonstrated success intranslating complex analyses into actionable businessrecommendations Deep expertise in statistical methods, predictivemodeling, machine learning, and optimization techniques Strongunderstanding of marketing mix modeling, promotion responseanalysis, and resource allocation optimization Experience withpatient finding and HCP targeting methodologies in pharmaceuticalcontext Knowledge of experimental design methodologies and A/Btesting frameworks Proficiency with analytics tools and languages(such as R, Python, SAS) Understanding of data visualizationprinciples and tools Familiarity with cloud-based analyticsenvironments and modern data architecture Knowledge of healthcaredata sources and regulatory considerations Strong strategicthinking with ability to align analytics initiatives with businessobjectives Excellent communication skills with ability to translatecomplex analytical concepts to business stakeholders Demonstratedability to build and develop high-performing, diverse teamsExperience managing cross-functional projects & influencing withoutdirect authority Business acumen with understanding ofpharmaceutical commercial business Change management skills todrive adoption of analytics solutions Collaborative approach toworking with business partners, BU Insights leaders and technologyteams Travel Requirement- Occasional domestic overnight travel maybe required More about us: At Takeda, we are transforming patientcare through the development of novel specialty pharmaceuticals andbest in class patient support programs. Base Salary Range:
$208,200.00 – $327,140.00 The estimated salary range reflects ananticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offeredmay depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications ofthe individual applicant for the position, years of relevantexperience, specific and unique skills, level of educationattained, certifications or other professional licenses held, andthe location in which the applicant lives and/or from which theywill be performing the job.
The actual base salary offered will bein accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for thejob location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-termand/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible toparticipate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan andcompany match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basiclife insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteertime off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendaryear, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible toaccrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
