Full-time (Exempt)PositionDescriptionThe Director of Business Analytics is responsible foroverseeing the use of data and analytics to perform complex problemsolving and research to support the business operations of TepperSports & Entertainment, which includes the NFL’s Carolina Panthers,MLS’s Charlotte FC, and Bank of America Stadium events. Thisposition is primarily focused on collaborating with and serving asa resource for the business unit leaders within the Marketing,Partnership Sales and Activation, Ticket and Premium Sales, Retailand Finance departments, in order to optimize net revenues and meetother goals and objectives set forth in the organizationalstrategic plan.
The Director of Business Analytics will set forthand develop best-in-class analytics capabilities of theorganization, grow the influence and impact of data analyticswithin the business operations, and be responsible for makingstrategic recommendations based on analytics and research.
PrimaryResponsibilities Serve as a resource for and the primary liaison between thevarious business unit leaders to ensure effective cross utilizationof data in a manner that optimizes net revenues Manage a team of 6+ analysts as well as the relationship withour third-party data warehouse provider, advancing our analyticscapabilities to be a leading team in sports Work with business unit leaders to develop data-drivenstrategies and recommendations to help achieve the organization’skey objectives Deliver a broad range of functional responsibilities criticalto
Business Operations:
Forecasting, reporting and data visualization Predictive analytics/modeling, lead scoring and retentionstrategy Pricing strategy development Customer research and segmentation Product development Directly inform and partner with business unit managers toproperly track current results and positively impact key businessdrivers including but not limited to: Increase consumer and corporate revenue (advertising,partnerships, premium, and ticket), concert revenue, andsponsorship activation operations, including inventory management,benchmarking and pricing of assets Improve tailoring of marketing and sales efforts through thedeepening of the understanding of fan segments and fan/individualbehavior Grow ancillary revenue streams, including, but not limited to:retail, food and beverage, parking, attendance, etc. Leverage data and technology to enhance the fan experience Create actionable insights and understandings through theanalysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, buildingrecommendations that directly address organizational goal andobjectives Lead and develop the Consumer Insights, Data Science, BusinessIntelligence and Business Analytics team members by providing clearwork direction and individual growth and developmentopportunities Act as key liaison with NFL and MLS Club Business DevelopmentTeams and influence, through data, key internal and externalbusiness decisions Other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications 6+ years of experience including 4+ years in a data drivenenvironment 3+ years of management experience Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., BusinessAnalytics, Data Science, Statistics) Proven track record of success using data analytics to driveincremental net revenues and meet other organizational goals andobjectives Proven ability to communicate analytical findings and relatedstrategic recommendations clearly to multiple teams and areas ofexpertise Strong quantitative, financial modeling skills, includingexposure to SQL and relational databases High proficiency with Excel, including ability to build complexspreadsheet models, run pivots, macros, v-lookups and otheradvanced functions Experience with Tableau or other similar data visualizationtools Ability to deliver both detail-oriented analyses and strategicrecommendations. Ability to develop analytic approach to issues and questionspresented, and to see processes through from issue presentation tostrategic recommendationPreferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to design and implement statistical modelsin Python preferred but not requiredDesired Skills Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with abilityto multi-task and collaborate Ability to prioritize requests based on availableresources Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must exhibit professionalism when interacting with staff andkey stakeholders throughout the organization Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/orsensitive information with care and sensitivity.
