THE ROLE

Our client — a Tier?1 U.S. legacy bank modernising its 20?year?old core — needs a senior DevOps leader to bolt SageMaker?powered ML pipelines onto a mature AWS estate.

Your charter:

cut batch toil 40?%, save 15?% in compute spend, and prove it with board?level FinOps dashboards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design landing zones with AWS CDK/Terraform; enforce least?privilege IAM for regulated data.
Build GitOps pipelines (ArgoCD) for model retraining, blue/green inference and data?drift checks.
Migrate monolith services into EKS micro?services behind API Gateway — zero downtime.
Instrument CloudWatch and Grafana for latency, cost and quality SLOs; trigger real?time anomaly alerts.
Embed policy?as?code (OPA / Kyverno) so every container passes banking?grade compliance on commit.
Champion IaC culture — every subnet, secret and S3 bucket lands via pull request.

SageMaker, Bedrock (nice?to?have), EMR, Kafka, Iceberg

Observability & Sec:

CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, OPA, Kyverno, Trivy, Falco

Soft Skills:

PST?time collaboration, written/asynchronous communication, blameless post?mortems

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years DevOps/SRE in AWS; 3+ with ML or data?heavy workloads.
• Deep IaC (Terraform/CDK) and container orchestration expertise.
• Proven FinOps optimisation in regulated industries (banking/healthcare a plus).
• BS in CS/CE or equivalent experience; AWS Professional or CKA certification preferred.
