Summary The Sr Business Data Analyst will be responsible foridentifying a problem statement, gathering requirements,identifying the proper data solution, and documenting the decisionsto support G.E.H.A’s business stakeholders. The Senior BusinessData Analyst will be responsible for mentoring and leading teammembers and recommending standards and processes. This rolesupports data development and maintenance efforts of the Data &Analytics activities and initiatives in alignment with theEnterprise Data strategy, policies, and organizational goals.
Duties
- Reviews, analyzes, and creates detailed documentation ofbusiness rules and data needs.
- Coordinates discussions withbusiness/stakeholders and cross functional/technical teams tocapture and review use cases, requirements, and other technicaldocuments to ensure all business requirements are accuratelyreflected and accounted for (including data lineage andtransformations).
- Collaborates with developers and architects todefine and document the data solution to meet needs outlined in thebusiness rules and needs.
- Responsible for obtainingbusiness/stakeholder approval, which passes audit scrutiny, fordata solutions delivered in a production state.
- Documents dataingestion, transformation, and consumption including workflows,data models, data classification, and steps required to curatetrusted data.
- Responsible for ensuring all documentation reflectsthe current state and outstanding issues so that businessrequirements reflect proper state of data.
- Support the cloud dataframework that aligns with the Enterprise Data Strategy, policies,and organizational goals.
- Ensures that the delivered data andprocesses fulfill the documented business rules and data needs.
- Ensure that all items follow company change management process.
- Leads backlog grooming, refinement, and planning meetings.
- Presents documentation of business rules, data needs, technicaldocumentation, and data models.
- Champions department standardsfor documentation and ensures that all assigned projects meetcompliance and can withstand audit scrutiny.
- Peer Reviewsdocumentation of business rules, data needs, technicaldocumentation, and data models.
- Create data models based on thedata solution decisions and conceptual models in collaboration withthe data architect and developer.
- Leads decisions and discussionswith business/stakeholders and cross functional/technical teamcollaboration.
- Own data model decision and design incollaboration with the data architect and developer.
- Providesguidance in QA work when requested so the appropriate level oftesting is planned and executed.
- Provides mentorship to otherBusiness Data Analysts regarding best practices for the businessand data analysis disciplines.
- Maintains a calm and composeddemeanor and brings disparate viewpoints to a place of mutualunderstanding through skilled negotiation and diplomacy. Maintainsa neutral viewpoint when collaborating with customers yetunderstands when their SME-level knowledge is appropriate tointerject into the conversation.
