Position DescriptionIn this role, the incumbent will be responsible for the analysis and implementation of SAP materials management based configuration and master data set-up serving our company’s operations in North and South America. Regular interaction with SAP users, business process owners, other members of IT, and management will be required. The candidate must be able to speak to individuals at all levels. The candidate will be asked to document new process and update existing documentation for other SAP Team members reference.
The analyst will serve as team member supporting the Materials Management Module in the Americas, and as part of a team of analysts and project leaders supporting the end users of the SAP system. They will also participate on Local and global Business initiatives working with other departments in IT.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis:
Perform comprehensive process analysis, alone or as part of a larger team, documenting the current state and to-be business process designDevelop the overall system concept for implementationServe as a liaison to the business units associated with the assigned area of responsibility, staying abreast of the current state of technology.
Maintain awareness of short- and long-term needs in the assigned area of responsibility.
System Development:
Configure/apply software systems to meet defined project objectives, in accordance with the project scope document and/or functional specificationsDesign system enhancements (workflows, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms)Perform data analysis, mapping, and transformation, both as a part of system conversion / cut-over activities and routine operation of software systemsPerform unit and integration testing of all new developments and changes to software systems in the assigned area of responsibilityProvide SAP Systems Support to all
SAP Implementations:
Work closely with the Materials and Purchasing Departments to support requirements and present new processes or features to usersWork closely with Engineering and Sales to maintain the Variant ConfiguratorStay informed on SAP upgrades and enhancements in order to recommend possible improvements to the ERP systemServe as project lead for SAP enhancements and system changes defined by managementWork with users and other project team members to implement new systems or upgrade/enhance existing systems
Project Management:
Develop project scope documents and manage project change requestsContribute to the selection of team membershipLead the project implementation teamDevelopment and management of project plans using various project management methodologiesManage consultants and consulting engagements of smaller scale (1-2 consultants)Contribute to post-implementation reviewsRequired Education & QualificationsBS/BA or equivalent experience; a degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration is preferred5+ years of experience in information technology or a business function related to the assigned area of responsibilityExcellent written and oral communica ions skillsMust be able to communicate effectively with resources at all levels of the Modine organizationEMust deal regularly and effectively with end-users as well as management and IT teamSolid SAP knowledge and expertise in multiple areasPurchasingVariant ConfiguratorMaterials ManagementBasic knowledge of the following areas within SAPSalesWarehouse ManagementProductionAccountingTeam player who facilitates learning and buy-in at all levels, inside and outside of I/TStrong project management skills using project management discipline, skills and toolsMust be able to think logically and independently, and solve complex problems in their assigned area of responsibilityWhy Choose Modine?
