Senior Data and Information Developer Position Available In Rankin, Mississippi

Perform analysis of business requirements and design reporting applications to meet the business needs. Work with business users to understand and analyze requirements for new reporting applications. Research and design effective solutions that are flexible and scalable. Prepare prototypes of reports and applications for user understanding and agreement. Develop technical requirements for approved solutions in compliance with departmental standards. Prepare logic charts, records formats, metadata, and detailed programming specifications. Develop, test, implement, and maintain reporting applications that are efficient and scalable. Develop business intelligence dashboards in WebFOCUS and/or Tableau environments. Develop/create data sources to connect to the databases to retrieve required data efficiently. Develop test cases and scripts, execute the test plans, and evaluate results. Analyze and resolve testing issues and production problems as reported in the problem tracking system. Develop and enforce coding standards and conventions. Adhere to corporate Approach to Work methodology for application development. Configure and schedule reports and data extracts, and work with Database Administrators to improve performance of reporting applications. Collaborate with Database Administrators to create efficient database queries and conduct performance tuning of reporting applications. Configure and schedule reports for auto generation and distribution. Prepare system documentation for reporting applications. Maintain the Corporate Data Catalog and ensure that new reports are appropriately documented in the catalog. Identify system improvement and automation opportunities and submit written recommendations to management. Monitor report usage and assist in identifying unused reports for deletion. Conduct data analysis to gather business intelligence and present information to business users to enable decision making. Engage with business users to understand the information being sought and formulate effective approaches to extract data. Conduct data analysis to extract trends and business intelligence. Prepare data reports and executive summaries using charts, tables and graphs to present information for business consumption.
