Enterprise Linux 7 Senior Consultant

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Enterprise Linux 7 Senior Consultant for a remote role. The duration will be 960 hours (Contract). The work schedule is Wednesday – Sunday with primarily night and weekend shifts, with occasional day shifts as needed.

Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Enterprise Linux 7 Senior Consultant to support mission-critical systems in a dynamic, high-availability environment. This role requires the ability to work independently during off-hours, including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced support and administration of RHEL 7 systems in production environments
• Perform system upgrades, patching, configuration, and performance tuning
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure system reliability and security
• Document processes, incidents, and resolutions
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents during night and weekend hours

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
• Experience with scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation
• Experience with monitoring tools and configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
• Strong knowledge of Linux system internals, networking, and security best practices
• Familiarity with cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Ability to work independently during off-hours
  The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.

We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
