Power BI & Business Reporting Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Visualization Specialist with hands-on expertise in Microsoft Power BI to develop and manage interactive dashboards and business reports that support operational and strategic decisions across the organization. This role works closely with the Lead Business Analyst, leveraging structured data models and integrated enterprise systems to deliver clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and paginated reports using data models and datasets provided by the analytics team. Translate key performance indicators (KPIs), business requirements, and operational needs into compelling data visualizations. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and visual clarity across all reports and dashboards. Support regular data refreshes, performance tuning, and user access management within Power BI Service. Work collaboratively with business teams to gather feedback, refine reporting solutions, and improve user experience. Document report specifications, visual logic, and user guidelines to ensure accessibility and scalability.
Qualifications:
2-4 years of hands-on experience developing dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. Proficient in DAX, Power Query (M language), and working within Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service environments. Familiarity with connecting Power BI to Microsoft-centric data sources, including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and Dynamics 365. Basic SQL knowledge and ability to work with data models provided by the analytics team. Strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of data visualization best practices.
Preferred Skills:
Experience using Power BI gateways, workspace management, and scheduled data refresh configurations. Agility in the use of Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and other Microsoft 365 collaboration tools. Exposure to Power Platform (e.g., Power Automate) or Azure Data Services is a plus but not required. Ability to support end users in understanding and interacting with reports.
