Responsibilities:

The Business Intelligence Manager leads the development and execution of business intelligence solutions, ensuring that data is efficiently extracted, modeled, and visualized to support business decision-making. This role combines strong technical expertise in Power BI, DAX, and SQL with leadership responsibilities, overseeing two analysts while maintaining a hands-on approach to BI development. The BI Manager is responsible for designing and optimizing dashboards, developing scalable data models, automating reporting processes, and ensuring data accuracy. Additionally, this role partners with business leaders to identify key reporting needs and delivers actionable insights that drive operational efficiency and business growth. Lead the BI team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and best practices in Power BI and data analysis. Design, develop, and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure usability, performance, and business impact. Write and optimize complex DAX calculations to create dynamic and interactive analytics solutions. Develop and maintain scalable data models and relationships within Power BI to support efficient reporting. Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple sources (SQL Server, APIs, Excel, Fabric, Databricks, etc.). Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to improve data retrieval efficiency. Automate reporting and data refresh processes, ensuring governance, security, and consistency across BI outputs. Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring reports provide clear, actionable insights. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of BI reports through rigorous validation, testing, and documentation. Collaborate with key business stakeholders to identify reporting needs and improve decision-making capabilities. Oversee ad hoc reporting requests, ensuring they meet business needs while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Stay updated on BI industry trends, including Power BI advancements, SQL performance optimization, and data visualization best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting capabilities and business intelligence strategy.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Current team of two but can change depending on business needs.

Travel:

Work involves travel between region offices, Client meetings and market meetings, as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field from an accredited institution. 5+ years of experience in BI development, with a focus on Power BI, DAX, and SQL. Experience working with data warehouses, Databricks, data visualization, and large datasets. Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and visualization techniques. Strong SQL skills for querying, transforming, and optimizing data. Experience with Databricks, including data processing, integration, and collaboration in a cloud-based environment. Experience in integrating multiple data sources into Power BI. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to optimize reports and troubleshoot data issues. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills. Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to create dynamic, user-friendly reports and dashboards Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information. Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
