Lead Power BI Analyst 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Massachusetts Our Global Medical Device client is seeking a Lead Business Intelligence Analyst with strong expertise in Power BI to lead the modernization and expansion of our Business Intelligence function. This role will be instrumental in transforming a fragmented and outdated reporting environment into a cohesive, reliable, and insightful BI platform. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders, including the senior Data Engineer and leadership, to design and deliver high-impact Power BI solutions. This is a hands-on role for someone who can deliver reporting solutions, guide project execution, and understand how data ties directly to business performance. Key Responsibilities Power BI Development & Delivery Lead end-to-end development of Power BI reports and dashboards that deliver clear, actionable insights. Build scalable and maintainable data models with clean, reliable visualizations. Utilize Power BI Power Tools, Power Automate, and the Power Platform suite to enhance automation and integration. Partner with internal business units to redesign outdated reporting structures and improve data trust. Data Architecture & ETL Collaboration Work alongside data engineering (DBT,& SQL Server) to design robust datasets and support ongoing ETL workflows. Perform data validation and ensure consistency across fragmented business sites. Monitor and improve data quality in coordination with the Master Data Management (MDM). Business Insight & Analytics Understand core business processes and metrics and translate them into meaningful reports based on user workshops. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and align on reporting objectives. Use data storytelling to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. BI Project Support & Delivery Act as a delivery lead for small BI projects, including coordination of timelines, user acceptance testing (UAT), and stakeholder communication. Fill gaps in PM support when needed and ensure successful BI rollouts. Support training and documentation to enable self-service analytics for business users. Required Qualifications 3+ years of hands-on Power BI experience (full lifecycle: data modeling, report building, publishing).
Proficient in Power BI suite:
Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Automate, and Power Platform tools. Experience with SQL Server (familiarity with dbt for data transformation is a plus) Strong business acumen with ability to understand and calculate core business metrics (e.g., revenue, margin, unit economics, manufacturing date, supply chain etc). Experience working on BI initiatives in fragmented or legacy environments. Familiarity with BI delivery methodology (agile or hybrid); ability to act as project lead on small efforts. Strong data validation, QA, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience. Nice to Have Experience with MDM portal management and user experience design. Exposure to Python or Apache Airflow is a plus but not required. Prior experience in manufacturing or multi-site ERP operations is a bonus.
