LOCATION

FL. GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

The Senior Business Intelligence Developerworks independently, and collaboratively, to elicit requirementsand create specifications. They then design, architect, andimplement complex and visually compelling reporting and businessintelligence (BI) solutions (data visualizations,extract-transform-load (ETL), ad hoc querying, etc.) The individual in this position interfaces with various functionalteams as required to support the BI solution delivery. Theyproactively identify needs or issues, develop strategies, andpropose/implement technical and process solutions. The Senior BIDeveloper leads large, complex or specialized projects and is thesubject matter expert for the most complex BI solutions withresponsibility for mentoring and training all levels of BIdevelopers as well as customers. The Senior BI Developer interprets internal or external businessissues and recommends best practices. They adapt precedent and maymake significant departures from traditional approaches.

ESSENTIAL JOB

FUNCTIONSBusiness Intelligence (BI)

Development:

Thisposition is responsible for designing and implementing BI solutionsto enable the analysis of data to support strategic initiatives andongoing business requirements. Solutions include, but are notlimited to, end-user reports, ad hoc requests, data visualizations,extract-transform-load (ETL) systems, master data management (MDM),and other BI Solutions. This position is expected to proactivelyapproach business units and create the best solution to addressbusiness needs and current infrastructure. Care will be given toprovide accurate data to fulfill the requirements of the developedsolutions. Care will also be given to design and build reusable andreliable code that ensures quality, performance, and responsivenessof reports.

BI Planning, Design, and Implementation:

This positionwill perform requirements analysis, design, and implementation ofend-user requested BI solutions. As the Senior BI Developer, thisposition will work with the Business Intelligence Analyst tofurther define business requirements and provide specifications forend user sign off prior to development. This position will workwith the Analytics Tester and other development team members tocoordinate User Acceptance Testing, obtain end user satisfactionwith developed product, and implement the final solution.

BISolution Administration and Documentation:

This position shalldemonstrate day-to-day adherence with change control procedures andpractices and write basic technical documentation for all createdBI products. This position will monitor the health and performanceof supported systems and communicate potential service problems byidentifying patterns occurring across separate BIsolutions.

Professional Development:

This position is responsiblefor learning and improving upon the skills necessary to staycompetitive in the field and coincide with the advances intechnology. This position will participate in conferences,seminars, certification programs, etc. as applicable to ensurecontinued skill development and technical competency.

Developmentand Execution of Industry Security Standards:

This position isresponsible for the development and execution of industry securitystandards as they relate to BI development and as supported byadopted policy. This position shall follow industry standards andbest practices to ensure the security of information,communications, data, etc. when developing BI solutions.

KNOWLEDGEOF JOB

Must have extensive development, architecture, andconfiguration skills in Microsoft SQL Server.

Must have extensiveexperience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL ServerIntegration Services (SSIS)Must possess expert level competencewith Microsoft T-SQL including complex queries and storedprocedures.

Must possess a high level of competence with MicrosoftVisual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)Musthave proven experience in developing Business Intelligencesolutions (reports, ETL, data visualizations, data extracts)Musthave experience in gathering business and technical requirementsand in preparing and documenting specifications.

Must haveexperience with Microsoft PowerShellMust have a high level ofcomputer literacy with desktop and cloud-based productivitysoftware such as Office365, Microsoft Office desktop applications,Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Skype.

Experience using a sourcecode control system is required; experience using Git for sourcecode control is desirable.

Knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI to developand architect data visualizations is preferred. Experience workingwithin an agile development process is preferred.

Strong knowledgeand experience in the development of BI solutions.

Proven ability tomeet development commitments and manage expectations.

A provenability to analyze end user needs, make proactive recommendationsto improve existing processes and identify where BI development maycreate opportunities for improvement.

Proven ability to understandbusiness processes and interact directly with internal customersand peers to provide sound business solutions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, ComputerScience, Management Information Systems, or related business fieldrequired. Must have 5 – 7 years of experience.

PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS

Close visual acuity to perform activities such aspreparation and analysis of documents; viewing a computer terminal;and extensive reading. Physical activity in this position includescrouching, reaching, walking, talking, hearing and repetitivemotion of hands, wrists and fingers. Sedentary work with liftingrequirements up to 10 pounds, sitting for extended periods of time.

Mental concentration is required in all aspects of work.

SALARY:

Depending on qualifications & experience ofcandidate. This position is exempt and is not eligible for overtimecompensation.
