Role Overview:

The Client Informatics organization is committed to providing employer clients with reporting, analytics, and consultation that is relevant and actionable. A key enabler of this mission is the Client Consulting and Analytics team. This client-facing team provides expert consultation to York Life GBS’s largest clients. This is accomplished through best-in-class reporting and analytics that demonstrate the value of GBS products and services to facilitate strategic decision-making. As an Informatics Consultant (IC), you will be responsible for providing analytical support to GBS’s largest clients. The Informatics Consultant plays an integral role in the client relationship with GBS by partnering with Account Management to provide client reporting, analytics, and the development of the consultative message. In addition to directly supporting the account management process, this role is instrumental in the design and development of new reporting content and the consultative approach.

What You’ll Do:

Provide consultative support for assigned book of business: Develop Consultative Analytic Reports for GBS National Account clients, with a primary focus on disability, absence, voluntary benefits, and life products.
Use claim data analysis methodology which leads to the identification of actionable trends for clients
Use key standard and customized recommendations on increasing productivity and decreasing incidence, absenteeism and cost on an individual client and standard process basis. These recommendations should be aligned with key products and services being targeted in GBS’s value proposition across all lines of business
Troubleshoot any issues or problems with the data
Develop and cultivate a partnership with Account Management, Underwriting, Operations and other business partners, centered on individual clients and strategically advising clients on elements that will allow them to reduce health, absence and productivity risk
Lead the presentation of data and recommendations for clients requesting Tier 1 services
Work with Account Management to prioritize and schedule client reports and meetings in concert with overall guidelines for capacity and timing
Provide reporting within current designed process and capabilities across multiple products Lead the development of new reporting and analytics capabilities: Work in concert with other stakeholders (including Account Management, Underwriting, Product, and Claims) to develop analytics concepts that effectively identify key trends and opportunities, and are well received by clients.
Identify key strengths and weaknesses in the current reporting model based on client, broker, underwriting, and account management interaction across the GBS book of business
Create reporting capabilities and concepts that demonstrate GBS’s value proposition, and that enable GBS to achieve a market-leading position in wellness, absence management and productivity
Partner with other key stakeholders to identify marketplace trends and update analytics strategy Partner with key stakeholders: Provide high level data to identify candidates for Case Studies and/or to examine client performance at a summary level
Ensure support of key Analytics/Research Projects led by GBS informatics – by consultative reporting team
Support the development of more effective reporting and diagnostics for integrated reporting
Support operational improvement initiatives based on trends identified through data analysis
Provide training and expert advice to key business partners – sharing tools and techniques related to consultative analysis What you’ll bring: Bachelor’s Degree is required: preferred fields include math, economics, computer science, information systems, engineering, or related fields; advanced degree or designation preferred
Strong technical skills in SQL (SAS, Redshift, MS SQL) and Data Visualization (Tableau, PowerBI) required. Statistical programming in Python or R preferred.
5+ years of demonstrated business results in an analytic and consulting capacity, with the ability to translate business questions into analytical plans
Strong project management skills
Strong presentation and storytelling skills
Knowledge of Group Disability products preferred
