POSITION SUMMARY

Designs, develops, and executes business intelligence and analytics solutions and processes. Develops, implements, and utilizes innovative processes to efficiently, accurately, and securely deliver information for our internal business users, songwriters and publishers.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions:

Which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. Leverages all aspects of BI technologies and architecture such as delivery mechanisms (i.e. portals, dashboards, OLAP), data model/architecture, data integration/ETL and reporting tools Integrates data from various sources including on system and off system sources Meets with project team(s) regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines Analyzes data, design and develops complex custom reports and dashboards using in-house reporting platform with little or no supervision Validates report results against requirements for consistency and accuracy Troubleshoots and analyzes data issues within reports Communicates results to business staff and supports business decisions Develops and maintains other BI and analytics standards for BMI including data sources, report catalog and a data dictionary Meets with appropriate personnel for periodic reviews of reports Supports BI and analytics standards for BMI including data sources and a data dictionary Regularly updates management of development status Regular attendance Other duties as assigned Supports our BMI Core Values and cultivates a culture of diversity and inclusion

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Math or equivalent industry experience

Experience :

Minimum three years of experience with business intelligence tools, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI and Cognos preferred. Should have 5+ years of experience in BI space (mostly Reporting). Minimum two years’ experience developing and implementing BI and Analytics solutions in a SQL Server database environment (experience with Netezza, DB2, and an Oracle 11g/12g is a plus). Minimum one years’ experience working with high volume data exchange and transaction processing systems, preferably in a custom software development environment

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

This may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. Knowledge of PBI Report performance tuning, DAX query plans. Proficiency using SQL development skills are required. Knowledge of Power BI Dashboards and report design (UI/UX gestalt principles). Knowledge of DAX Measures, Calculated Columns, and Dax Pattern implementations. Understanding of SDLC and Agile Methodologies. Understanding of model driven development. Understanding of business intelligence and analytic best practices. Understanding of SQL Server RDBMS. Hands-on experience with design and development best practices. Proficiency estimating work assignments and delivering to these estimates. Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision. Monitoring and troubleshooting Power BI Reports and sites utilizing tools like DAX Studio. Power Query (M), Dataflows and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX). Knowledgeable of all aspects of Microsoft Power Platform is a plus. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

SALARY RANGE

The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
