Chief Information Officer 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 3057 Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford, MA 02745 Summary The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a member of the Executive Team whom directs, plans, and manages the agency’s information systems, policies and operations to ensure the effective use of technology in achieving organizational goals. The CIO collaborates cross functionally and actively participates in the strategic planning process with the team to align technology solutions to the organization’s objectives. This role oversees teams responsible for both IT and electronic medical records (EMR) systems to ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and efficient technology infrastructure through collaborative approaches for organization wide adoption. Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions Develop and execute an IT plan in alignment with strategic planning objectives. Lead the IT team as a service-oriented department, fostering a culture of collaboration, responsiveness, and continuous improvement to align technology initiatives with organizational goals and enhance user satisfaction. Supervise IT leadership roles and create succession planning opportunities, providing professional growth paths for IT staff. Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate efficient and streamlined technology into organizational operations. Safeguard the agency against cyberattacks and future proof systems to prevent compromise or theft of data, training staff organization wide to understand and mitigate risks. Work closely with technology vendors to address and resolve issues with acquired systems, ensuring optimal performance. Direct the design, development, and maintenance of systems, programs, and software to meet organizational needs. Develop reasonable, enforceable policies and/or procedures for IT related operations and cascade collaboratively across the organization. Develop and maintain global WAN and LAN systems, enabling seamless access for in-house and remote staff. Oversee mobile deployment, including hardware and software systems for tablets, phones, and remote access. In collaboration with Health Information Systems leader, plan, implement, audit, and maintain EMR/EHR systems while ensuring data security and regulatory compliance, lead staff training to ensure proficiency and utilization. Design and implement advanced reporting solutions to empower data-driven clinical decision-making and achieve key operational objectives. Continuously monitor and analyze industry trends, innovations, and best practices, integrating new advancements into the organization’s IT strategy. Leverage emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge, future-proof systems, and support long-term objectives. Administer and control the IT expense budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Identify opportunities to consolidate vendors and streamline procurement processes to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency. Continuously evaluate IT systems, processes, and team performance to identify areas for improvement. A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT leadership, including managing information systems and infrastructure. Comprehensive knowledge of IT technology, hardware and software to adapt to emerging trends. Strong interpersonal and management skills to successfully plan, direct and oversee IT operations. Demonstrated expertise in EMR/EHR systems, Technology Infrastructure and healthcare IT compliance. Proven ability to manage budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and lead teams effectively. Proficient in designing and deploying scalable, secure cloud-based solutions that are cost effective and efficient. Experienced in conducting risk assessments, managing vulnerabilities, and enforcing compliance with industry standards like HIPAA and HITECH. Proficient in developing custom software solutions to address organizational challenges, streamline workflows, and integrate systems. Extensive experience managing server environments, enterprise applications, and operating systems to ensure optimal uptime and performance. In-depth knowledge of designing, implementing, and optimizing telecommunication systems, including VoIP and unified communications. Skilled in creating communication solutions that enhance collaboration and connectivity across all locations.
