POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Research Specialist will collect and analyze heavy duty vehicle and equipment data that will be consumed by a variety of customer-facing and internal applications. The Field Research Specialist will utilize their industry knowledge to collect data while observing proper safety protocols. In addition, the Field Research Specialist utilizes strong interpersonal and communication skills applied to strengthen customer relationships and mentoring team members.
SPECIFIC
RESPONSIBILITIES, including but not limited to: Collects, analyzes, and reports findings through searches of information within the public domain and within purchased services and publications. Collects data from vehicles and heavy equipment using proprietary and commercial software. Organizes, analyzes and reports findings on this data. Researches and documents proposed software features and the data and logic needed to implement them. Participates in conducting training for new team members. Communicates with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers to raise risks/issues and collaborates on mitigation and corrective plans. Assist Test Team in test execution related to collected data. Expands technical skills and knowledge base and leverages opportunities for growth for professional development and certification.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the Heavy Equipment Technology or Automotive Technology field Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Diesel or Automotive Technician. Has knowledge of Service and Diagnostics best practices and can competently demonstrate such. Proficient knowledge in using various OEM Diagnostic Scan Tool Software. Proficient with Microsoft Office products. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to conduct training for individuals or small groups Class A or B CDL preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires on and off-site vehicle This includes the ability to enter heavy-duty trucks and gain access to various engine components as needed, in addition to standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, bending, and climbing as necessary. Sitting for extended periods of time and extensive computer usage are required Talking, hearing and close vision abilities are required Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds is required
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
