Summary:
The VP System Affiliations & Integration directly leads affiliation and integration functions, including activities to identify risks and opportunities to improve performance and contributes to the achievement of the short- and long-term financial, strategic, and quality performance goals of the UNC Health System. The VP is responsible for the overall integration of new hospital and health system entities affiliating with UNC Health, as well as existing affiliates migrating to a more integrated partnership type . This leader is responsible for representing UNC Health to affiliate organizations in the Statewide Region including regular attendance and presentations at affiliate Board of Trustee meetings, regular meetings with affiliate entity leadership team members, and for facilitating the flow of information between affiliates and UNC Health leadership.
Responsibilities:
1.Strategic- Promotes the health care system strategy by proposing and evaluating statewide initiatives with impacts to operating standards or processes. Considers areas where system-set clinical and operational guidelines may need further considerations to be appropriate in a rural environment. Develops statewide initiatives in support of growth and development of UNC Health’s rural health strategy. Leading and coordinating the initiation, launch, and prioritization of strategic initiatives throughout the system. Leads and oversees the executive reporting of strategic planning status updates and reports for the Statewide Region to executive leadership. Spearheads a metrics-driven culture, leveraging data and analytics to track and communicate initiative progress against the strategic objectives. Supports setting annual long-term goals for the organization. Promotes UNC Health strategy and culture in the way care is delivered in the Statewide and Triangle Regions. 2.Operational- Facilitates the integration of system clinical, operational, research, and various strategic initiatives into Statewide Region affiliate operations. Translates market analytics and strategic planning data into relationships during the affiliation/partnership progress. Supports the integration of UNC Health’s rural health strategy and population health initiatives, sharing strategic plan and other relevant information across the care continuum and operational areas in the Statewide Region. Identifies and implements System Enterprise Services solutions in Statewide Region as appropriate and applicable. Reviews and endorses System policy review and approval on behalf of entities in the Statewide region. Implements tools, metrics, and templates for affiliate hospitals to achieve local and regional goals in line with system targets. 3.People Leadership- Develops and leads a team working directly with management leadership teams to support statewide initiatives and growth of UNC Health’s mission across the State. Serves as a people leader for the State region by developing partnerships with leaders and employees across the State region. 4.Leading People – Leads people toward meeting the organization’s vision, mission, and goals. Qualifications Education Requirements:
Requires a Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
Requires a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience, with at least ten (10) years of people management experience. Holds a deep understanding of a clinical or business function (e.g. Legal, Communications/Marketing, Human Resources, Operations, etc.)
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
Understands the overarching System operations and policies that guide the organization. Drives and develops innovative ideas and solutions with significance to the organization’s future. Identifies problem areas and skill gaps proactively and addresses them appropriately. Excellent project management and change management skills for designing and implementing high priority System or business group initiatives in a complex environment.
