PURPOSE:
- As a Senior Principal Cyber Security Officer, you serve as the primary point of contact between the cybersecurity function and your assigned business unit(s) or region(s).
You are responsible for maintaining a strategic relationship with the specific business unit or function to ensure that cybersecurity is incorporated into the culture of Bayer. This role requires a deep understanding of any relevant country regulations and laws.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- + Deliver required compliance to all cyber security regulatory, legal, and industry requirements to ensure Bayer maintains its license to operate; + Engage with CSRM, IT, LPC, external partners, and other stakeholders to understand, assess, and communicate all requirements and associated risks or gaps; + Ensure implementation of all controls and measures to avoid significant financial or legal impact or enforcement measures from government agencies; + Support the development and implementation of security policies in compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and local legal obligations; + Assist in conducting risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies; + Manage Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery operations, guiding local teams in implementing Business Continuity and Crisis Management Plans; + Serve as the primary contact for the ISO Scope in the designated region within CSF, engaging with IT, LPC, external partners, and stakeholders; + Oversee the execution of local cyber security audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to requests for information; + Establish and conduct leadership cyber security reviews to communicate critical exposures and necessary actions; + Deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of country or division risk and compliance and provide regular reports to leadership and key stakeholders.

WHO YOU ARE
- Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:
- + A general computer science/IT degree or a specialist degree in cybersecurity; + Cyber apprenticeships and other technical accreditations, including certifications like CISSP, CISM, and Certified Ethical Hacker; + Experience in a cybersecurity leadership role, with a broad understanding of the cybersecurity landscape and best practices; + In-depth knowledge of information security principles, including network security and information security; + Proficiency in using security tools and technologies, particularly those supporting security information and event management (SIEM), threat intelligence, and vulnerability management; + Strong analytical skills to assess security vulnerabilities, identify threats, and develop effective countermeasures; + Extensive relevant professional experience spanning several years.
This posting will be available for application until at least 7/2/2025. Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $178,768 to $268,152. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
