Assuresthe integrity of revenue and billing information for Mayo Clinic tobe appropriately reimbursed for all billable services provided.

            Participates in providing input in strategic planning with theRevenue Cycle Leadership team. Translates the Mayo Clinic anddepartmental vision into meaningful and effective responses andresults. Establishes key performance indicators with scope ofresponsibility to effectively manage staff and outcomes. Delegatesresponsibility and authority to carry out work. Manages multiplefunctions and serves as a resource with oversight in day to dayactivities. May manage multi-site operations. Must be able tooperate scope of responsibility through complexity and ambiguity.

            May possess technical knowledge appropriate to functions beingmanaged with additional knowledge in other functions includingprofessional management. Participates in the identification ofopportunities to improve processes and to act as a catalyst forrealizing these improvements. Acts as a facilitator and generatorof new ideas and a mediator on difficult issues. Responsible forrecruitment, development and performance management within areas ofresponsibility, translating the departmental vision into meaningfuland effective results. Brings awareness of current externalenvironment issues. Participates in the overall management of theRevenue Cycle by chairing and serving on Enterpriseprojects/groups, task forces, councils and committees. Serves as aliaison between sections and other departments and agencies insideand outside Mayo. Creates customer service driven sections andfosters collaboration with physician and administrative colleagues.

            Builds teamwork within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle. Participatesin retention planning initiatives. Travel required as assignmentswarrant. The Senior Manager – Enterprise Denial Management- PRIZMis a key strategic leadership role within our Revenue Cycleorganization. This position is responsible for overseeing andadvancing enterprise-level prevention and resolution efforts acrossa large, multi-site academic health system. The successfulcandidate will be responsible for leading a high-performing team ofSenior Business Analysts and Denial Prevention Associates, whilealso managing and optimizing the use of the PRIZM denial managementengine and analytics platform. The role involves cross-functionalleadership, interfacing with stakeholders across clinical,operational, and administrative teams to proactively identifydenial trends, drive root cause analysis, and execute system-widestrategies to reduce denial volume and improve reimbursementaccuracy.

            Key Responsibilities:
            • Provide strategic and operationaloversight for enterprise denial management activities andprevention initiatives.
            • Lead, mentor, and develop a team ofSenior Business Analysts and Denial Prevention Associates.
            • Manageand optimize use of the PRIZM engine and associated analyticsdashboards, ensuring effective modeling, governance, and insightgeneration.
            • Collaborate across clinical and non-clinicaldepartments to lead denial prevention workgroups focused on processredesign and revenue integrity.
            • Establish, monitor, and report onkey performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve denialmanagement outcomes.
            • Engage with physician and administrativeleadership to identify system-level gaps and drive improvementinitiatives.
            • Participate in strategic planning efforts, servingas a thought leader and advisor to Revenue Cycle leadership.
            • Represent the health system in external industry forums (e.g.,HFMA, EPIC academic working groups) to stay ahead of evolvingdenial trends and share best practices.
            • Facilitate complexproblem-solving efforts involving payor trends, documentationworkflows, clinical collaboration, and contract interpretation.
            • Translate enterprise strategy into measurable, effective actionswithin the Denial Management program.

            Qualifications Required:
            • Bachelor’s degree inBusiness, Healthcare, Finance, or a related field and 10 years ofrelevant experience, including at least 5 years in a leadershiprole OR 14 years of relevant experience (in lieu of degree),including 5 years leading people, projects, or programs.
            • Demonstrated experience managing teams, projects, and complexsystems in healthcare or consulting environments.
            • Provenanalytical expertise with ability to identify trends, synthesizedata, and present insights to senior leadership.
            • Strong executivepresence and communication skills with ability to engage diversestakeholder groups.
            • EPIC experience in a revenue cycle context.
            • Prior experience with denial management and denial analyticsplatforms.
            Preferred:
            • Master’s degree in Business Administration,Health Administration, or related field.
            • Experience within anacademic medical center or large integrated health system.
            • Activeparticipation in professional organizations such as HFMA or NAHAM.
            • Background in consulting with success at managing large scalehealthcare revenue cycle improvement initiatives, healthcareanalytics and denials management.
