ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategic Impact & Business Alignment Develop and execute a data strategy that directly supports business objectives such as member engagement, financial growth, and operational efficiency. Establish key credit union data-driven KPIs that measure the success of credit union. Data Architecture & Technology Leadership Implement scalable, cloud-based data platforms that facilitate advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning. Ensure seamless integration of data sources for a unified, real-time view of business insights. Innovation in AI & Machine Learning Drive the adoption, support and implementation of AI and machine learning models that enhance personalization, risk management, and fraud detection. Champion emerging technologies that enable automation and predictive analytics, AI and machine learning to improve member experience, efficiency and decision-making. Data Management, Governance, and Compliance Excellence Develop and enforce robust data governance policies, ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., NCUA regulations). Implement data quality frameworks to maintain high standards for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Oversee database system operations, performance, backup, and recovery plans to assure maximum uptime and availably. Leadership & Team Development Lead and mentor a high-performing data management team, fostering a culture of data and technology innovation, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence Partner with other Technology and Innovation Team leaders and Credit Union executive leadership to ensure data insights drive member-centric strategies and operational efficiency. Effectively communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Member Experience & Competitive Differentiation Leverage data to enhance the digital banking experience, offering personalized products and services. Utilize analytics to identify trends, anticipate member needs, and improve satisfaction and retention rates.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in data management, data architecture, and analytics.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proven success in leading data transformation initiatives and leveraging data for business value. Deep understanding of data governance, data security, financial services, and regulatory compliance. Strong expertise in big data technologies, cloud platforms, and analytics tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake, JHA Data Broker, Tableau, Power BI, Databricks, and SQL Server). Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Alteryx, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), or similar platforms. Ability to design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract data from various sources, transform it according to business rules, and load it into target systems. Hands-on skills with tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, SQL Sentry, Power Pivot, and Pivot tables, Copilot, and ChatGPT. Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills. Financial services or credit union industry experience is preferred.
