What You’ll Do
We are looking for a Principal Geometry Tools Programmer with deep knowledge of modern geometry processing techniques. The ideal candidate will combine this specialist knowledge with strong coding abilities, be self-motivated and be able to design and implement new mesh-based geometry algorithms and engine features while collaborating with users. You will directly impact others’ productivity by developing user-facing tools for one of the leading game engines used by developers worldwide.
In this role, you will
Read and implement cutting-edge geometry processing papers as Unreal Engine features
Collaborate with our Machine Learning group to integrate ML/AI systems into our geometry tools
Solve open-ended algorithmic problems by developing robust and practical solutions
Design and implement tools, engine features and editor user interfaces for Unreal Engine 5
Communicate directly with users and developers to gather requirements and design solutions
Work independently to make and own implementation decisions
Resolve bugs and workflow issues for our internal teams and licensees
What we’re looking for
Excellent C++ skills
Computer Science PhD or Master’s Degree with a focus on modern geometry processing or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of applied linear algebra and numerical methods
Experience applying machine learning techniques is preferred but not required
Experience writing tools that improve the user experience of the consumer in game development or similar field
Experience developing in a large codebase; ideally, experience designing and implementing a tool from the ground up
Experience developing in Unreal Engine is preferred
Demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbally
