Description of Work Are you passionate about the environment and want to make a difference? DEQ has an open opportunity for 2 positions: HOMES Program Analyst and HEAR Program Analyst! • This posting is for multiple vacancies positions 65034797 & 65035427. This is a time-limited position. It is full-time (40 hours per week) with State Benefits for a limited time. Although the length of time this position will be active cannot be determined, it has the potential to extend up to 3 years (36 months). If you have questions concerning the time-limited status of this position, you may inquire at the interview. • This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays. The NC Department of Environmental Quality trusts our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management. NC Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the State Energy Office (SEO) received $209 million in program funds from the US Department of Energy (USDOE) to implement two new rebate programs for the residents of
NC:
Homeowners Managing Energy Savings (HOMES) and Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR). Together these new rebate programs offer benefits that improve home energy efficiency, achieve residential energy savings, improve indoor air quality, create jobs, and accelerate the home energy efficiency economy in NC.
Description of Work:
The position will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Energy Programs by collecting program data, analyzing and modeling program data, evaluating program impacts, and by providing recommendations to optimize program effectiveness. This position involves utilizing data analysis and data management tools and software to present data and information in different formats.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain databases to track program performance and impacts.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Evaluate the benefits and potential impacts of program initiatives.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop summaries, impacts, solutions and issues for management’s use in decision making and in the development of strategies for use in program improvement and compliance.
The DEQ State Energy Office:
The DEQ State Energy Office serves as the agent of energy planning and program development to ensure a sustainable energy future for the citizens of North Carolina. This Division provides services and technical expertise on energy efficiency, encourages the growth and development of the state’s energy economy, and works to increase the use of renewable energy and alternative fuels. The State Energy Office supports energy efficiency in public buildings by assisting North Carolina governmental units manage the use and cost of electricity, water, and other utilities in their facilities. The State Energy Office provides programs, services, and technical expertise for advancing energy efficiency, increasing alternative energy and fuel sources, providing educational opportunities for the public, state and local governments, universities, schools, and businesses, and working closely with other state agencies in responding to energy emergencies during natural disasters and supply interruptions.
