Wire EDM Programmer 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Rahway, NJ Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Wire EDM Technician with strong technical abilities and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming and operating Wire EDM machines, preferably within highly regulated industries. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to support manufacturing processes from setup to final inspection.

PM Pay Rate:

$72,800 – $100,000/yr Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in programming and setting up Wire EDM machines, including: Writing and editing machine programs Designing fixtures Collaborating with operations, supervision, and quality assurance to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., medical device, aerospace, defense) is preferred Familiarity with various CNC-based equipment is a strong plus Responsibilities Set up and maintain various manufacturing equipment including: Wire EDM ECG (Electrochemical Grinding) ECM (Electrolytic Cut-off Machines) Support Manufacturing and Applications Engineering by: Evaluating process capabilities Designing and testing fixtures Optimizing production workflows Follow documented procedures to: Set up and adjust equipment Ensure operations meet specifications and quality standards Adhere to cGMP guidelines and internal work instructions by: Performing first-piece and in-process inspections Adjusting processes as needed to maintain quality Set up all safety devices and support equipment Train operators on proper equipment use and safety protocols Provide leadership and mentorship when required Work collaboratively with Production Supervisors to resolve tooling and quality issues Perform other related duties as assigned, in compliance with all applicable State and Federal regulations Key Competencies Technical Skills Regularly assesses strengths and development areas Pursues continuous learning opportunities Maintains and grows technical expertise Teamwork Works effectively in team settings Gives and receives constructive feedback Prioritizes team success Attendance & Punctuality Demonstrates consistent reliability and timeliness Ensures responsibilities are covered during absences Dependability Follows directions and policies Takes ownership of tasks and commitments Communicates proactively when plans change Productivity Meets performance standards and deadlines Works efficiently and strives for improvement Initiative Proactively seeks knowledge and process improvements Collaborates to resolve challenges and share ideas Physical Requirements Continual standing and walking Occasional sitting and stair climbing Frequent bending and kneeling Regular use of hands and fingers for fine manipulation Sustained visual focus for precision work Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise
