Job Description
Description Robert Half is hiring! We are looking for an experienced Programmer Analyst to join our team in Anderson, South Carolina. In this role, you will work closely with users to understand their needs and provide technical solutions that enhance existing systems and processes. This position offers the opportunity to design and develop software applications while ensuring seamless integration with current systems.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with users to identify necessary changes or modifications to existing applications based on requests.
- Offer on-call support and resolve issues related to computer applications as part of a rotational schedule.
- Diagnose and address programming errors and user issues, including making programming changes or restoring files when needed.
- Conduct needs analysis to align user processes with system functionalities, translating requirements into software specifications.
- Design, develop, test, and implement new software systems, ensuring compatibility with existing platforms.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation to support system operations and allow for continuity in programming.
- Prepare technical manuals, training materials, and reference guides while providing user training for system enhancements or new applications.
- Travel as required to support project-related activities.
- Ensure timely and effective troubleshooting of technical problems within the application environment. Requirements
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in application development on AS400 or I5 platforms.
- Proficiency in AS400 RPG and SQL Server programming.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a structured manner.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in creating technical documentation and training materials.
- Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
