BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Under direct supervision, responsible for providing programming, report writing, database maintenance, project management and software training services for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

None Minimum Work Experience:
Two years programming and analysis experience in multiple programming languages required. Software development and SQL administration experience required. C#, Transaction SQL, SSRS, SSIS, and Corepoint Integration Engine experience preferred. Eight years of technical experience in programming can be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Service oriented. Able to work independently. Is proactive and makes routine decisions independently. Must have above average problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills. Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint and other computer applications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tests, analyzes, and maintains new and existing software applications and interfaces in support of the achievement of operational requirements using a best practice approach. Designs, documents, and modifies software and interface specifications throughout the life cycle of the software or interface using a best practice design process. Applies knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems across multiple computer platforms and multiple programming languages to meet project requirements of stakeholders. Functions as a database administrator. Ensures data integrity of the assigned systems by using process techniques that safeguard enterprise data. Ensures optimal system performance while developing interfaces that improve processes. Serves as an effective Information Systems team member. Maintains a high degree of customer service for all inter- and intra- departmental and vendor requests for software applications and interfaces. Handles multiple conflicting software application and interface projects while maintaining professional demeanor. Collaborates with internal and external customers to better understand and meet their needs. Makes decisions and takes appropriate action based upon understood software application and interface needs. Refers unresolved conflicts regarding software applications and interfaces to the appropriate management support person as needed. Provides complete system documentation and effective training support to team members so that team members can effectively respond to requests or problems with the software application or interface as needed. Communicates effectively to ensure that software application and/or interface requests are attended to appropriately and in a timely manner. Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of the department and/or team to facilitate its ability to meet goals and objectives. Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested. Utilizes hospital resources and time efficiently and accountably.
