Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering to join our team as an Entry-Level Programmer. This role is ideal for someone looking to apply their engineering knowledge to the development and programming of control systems in the automation industry. As a programmer, you will work closely with engineering teams to develop, test, and maintain software for automation systems. You will receive mentorship and training to develop your programming skills while contributing to the design and implementation of automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Software Development & Programming:

Write and maintain code for control systems, including PLC programming, and willing to learn Allen-Bradley, Siemens, SCADA systems, and other automation software. Assist in developing custom control algorithms and ensuring they meet project requirements and client specifications. Debug and troubleshoot existing software systems, resolving issues in a timely manner. Develop visual interfaces for customers, maintenance operators/facility managers, project managers, and sales. Engineering Teams:

Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and controls engineers to understand system requirements and translate them into functional software solutions. Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality and consistency across projects.

System Testing & Validation:

Help develop and execute test plans for control systems and automation software. Test and validate programs in real-world conditions to ensure performance, accuracy, and reliability. Assist in the deployment of programs to physical control systems and devices, ensuring proper integration.

Documentation & Reporting:

Create and maintain detailed documentation for all developed programs, including source code, logic diagrams, and user manuals. Assist in preparing progress reports, updates, and technical documentation for internal teams and clients.

Continuous Learning & Development:

Stay up to date with the latest programming techniques, automation technologies, and industry trends. Participate in training programs to enhance programming skills and technical knowledge. Work with senior programmers and engineers to improve and refine programming practices and methodologies.

Support & Troubleshooting:

Provide technical support for deployed systems, assisting clients and internal teams in troubleshooting software and system-related issues. Help with remote diagnostics and repairs when necessary.

Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

Recent graduate (or about to graduate) with exposure to programming, controls automation, or similar fields. Familiarity with both visual and/or text-based programming environments. Basic understanding of control systems and automation concepts.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with control systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA) or mechanical/electrical systems is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to learn new programming languages and technologies. Ability to understand electrical and mechanical schematics/diagrams

Preferred:

Internship or academic project experience in programming, controls automation, or embedded systems. Experience with specific PLC programming software (e.g., Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal) is a plus. Basic knowledge of networking protocols (Modbus, BACnet, OPC, Ethernet/IP) for automation systems.
