We are seeking a highly motivatedFlight Simulation Engineer, Entry/Mid-Levelto support the development and analysis of missile system simulations, specifically focusing on 6 Degrees of Freedom (6-DOF) modeling. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional with experience in flight dynamics, software development, and systems analysis within a defense or aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain high-fidelity 6-DOF simulation models to support missile flight test assessments.
Create and implement motion models for missiles launched from diverse platforms, operating in air, land, and sea domains.
Design radar scene models, software tools, and guidance/control algorithms to enhance simulation accuracy.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to produce pre-flight predictions, conduct post-flight analyses, and contribute to safety studies supporting tactical software release.
Test and refine missile and simulation software to ensure performance, reliability, and ongoing system improvements.
Represent the customer at various government and contractor technical/programmatic reviews (e.g., PMR, PDR, CDR), offering system recommendations and risk assessments.
Proactively support the Government customer’s technical and operational goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Prime/Subcontractors, functional teams, and subject matter experts.
Prepare, review, and coordinate documentation and technical data to support informed decision-making.
Engage regularly with government stakeholders, SETA personnel, and other external partners.
Perform additional duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements and Desired SkillsetsBachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution.2-5 years of relevant experience in simulation, software development, or missile systems (Mid-Level).Strong proficiency in Linux, along with experience in one or more of the following: C++, MATLAB, Python, Fortran.
Preferred experience with weapon systems, radar, and communication/network subsystems.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and performance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret Security Clearance are required, with the ability to maintain clearance eligibility.
Physical DescriptionEmployees in these positions will function in a general office/cubicle setting environment, and laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software and testing equipment. Will interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May function in a specialized laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software and complex systems. May move and test equipment of various weights. Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work.
