Computer Scientist
- TS/SCI Defense Consulting and Technology LLC Patrick Afb, FL 32925 Defense Consulting and Technology, LLC is seeking a Computer Scientist with experience streamlining and optimizing python data processing algorithms.
The successful candidate must be able to independently plan and execute modernization projects of predominantly python algorithms. You will work in a dynamic environment with a multidisciplinary team of government, military, and contractors working together to solve challenging development and operational problems. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with at least five years of experience, or a master’s degree in a related discipline is required. Pay Range $120,000.00
- $160,000.00 Annually Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.
- Collaborate with scientists and researchers in one or more of the following areas: transport modeling, process engineering, statistical processing, machine learning, data integration, data streaming, data fusion, database technology, programming models for scalable parallel computing, application performance modeling and analysis and HPC architecture simulation and evaluation.
- Work with Government technical SMEs to identify python data processing and analysis methods that are out of date, inefficient, and not compatible with cloud HPC deployment.
- Perform on-site method enhancements with parallelized, modern algorithms and data science techniques compatible with on-premises or cloud HPC use.
- Iteratively submit new code through the CI/CD pipeline and make any necessary code modifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with at least five years of experience, or a master’s degree in a related discipline is required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of one or more of the following: high performance computing, scientific data analysis, statistical analysis, knowledge discovery, systems programming, large-scale data management, and big data technologies.
- Experience developing scientific algorithms with Python in Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments.
- Ability to effectively handle concurrent technical tasks with conflicting priorities, to approach difficult problems with enthusiasm and creativity and to change focus when necessary, and to work independently and implement research concepts in a multi-disciplinary team environment, where commitments and deadlines are important to project success.
- Effective interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of personnel.
