Position Summary Sea School is seeking a Simulator Operator & IT Support personto oversee the operation and maintenance of our VSTEP Full Mission Marine Simulator at our Bayou La Batre, Alabama, location. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient functionality of the simulator, assist instructors and students in training sessions, and provide technical support for system operations and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities Operate the VSTEP Full Mission Marine Simulator to support instructor-led training sessions. Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on simulator computer systems to ensure optimal functionality. Assist instructors and students in utilizing the simulator for training exercises. Monitor simulator performance and report any issues requiring technical support or upgrades. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for system updates and improvements. Maintain detailed documentation of simulator operations, issues, and repairs. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for maritime simulation training. Maintain and troubleshoot IT infrastructure across the business to ensure optimal system performance, security, and uptime. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Strong technical aptitude with troubleshooting and computer maintenance experience. Knowledge of maritime navigation, operations, or vessel handling is a plus. Ability to support training instructors and students with simulator usage. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic training environment. Prior experience with marine simulation systems or maritime training equipment preferred but not required. Ability to role-play (voice communications) as the training environment requires.
