Description Position Summary:
The Help Desk Support Specialist provides frontline technical support and customer service for a web-based research education platform. The role involves responding to a high volume of user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining detailed records of interactions in help desk software. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Deliver exceptional customer support via email and phone for technical inquiries related to the online training platform. + Record all customer interactions and issues using help desk ticketing software. + Collaborate with team members to administer the web-based system, including user enrollment, account maintenance, and institutional updates. + Ensure timely follow-up on outstanding tasks and requests from users and stakeholders. + Assist in maintaining accurate documentation and logs to support compliance and user tracking. + Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and sub-committees as needed. + Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field. + Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service or technical support within a call center or help desk environment. + Strong knowledge of HTML and web-based platforms. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Typing speed of at least 35 WPM. + Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with diverse users. + Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to manage multiple tasks independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Familiarity with
IRB/IACUC
processes, HIPAA compliance, and university-based research environments. + Experience supporting web-based training systems.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
+ Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. + Occasionally move computer equipment under 10 pounds. + Operate standard office equipment and communicate effectively via phone and computer. + Travel to Ft. Lauderdale office and industry conferences may be required. No third party vendors!!!
