IT Field Support Technician Overview:
The IT Field Support Technician provides hands-on technical support for all incident and service request tickets assigned through the IT Service Management System. This role ensures consistent operation, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure at local sites, including both onsite and remote user support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for issues distributed by the IT Help Desk. Install, configure, and deploy workstations, printers, phones, modems, and various computing and telecommunication equipment. Maintain documentation and manage the physical setup of IT hardware, including cabling, wire organization, and emergency power systems. Perform installation, configuration, and system administration for operating systems and software applications, including updates and patches. Provide general software support for office applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, email, and communication tools. Coordinate and schedule vendor visits for hardware support, maintenance, and repairs. Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours or emergency technical outages at local sites. Provide remote support to users and systems from a centralized location.
Requirements:
Experience in a desktop support or field technician role. Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and remote troubleshooting tools. Strong understanding of hardware installation and cable/wire management. Ability to work varied hours based on support needs. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
