Description:

We are seeking an IT Network Engineer. This role is a mid-level position that is part of a network team. As a mid-level engineer, you should have a solid foundation in network principals, a valid CCNP certification, and several years of experience as a network engineer. The Network Engineer will be responsible for participating with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and support of the company’s network devices. In addition, this role will be maintaining Solarwinds system, responding to alerts, and working tickets escalated from the Help Desk.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

Installation, monitoring, maintenance, and support of the company’s network devices. Network support in medium to large IP network of routers, switches, wireless and security infrastructure (ISE). LAN routing and switching knowledge, including Ethernet, VLAN tagging, STP, and access/trunking. Multi-protocol network experience includes OSPF, BGP, TCP/IPHSRP, and wireless. Participate in a 24×7 shared on-call schedule. Respond to tickets escalated from the Help Desk. Firmware upgrades to network devices. Managing and monitoring SolarWinds. Special projects and duties as assigned. Ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally.

Required Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively document processes.

Required Qualifications & Education:

4+ years of experience supporting, installing, and configuring Cisco networks in an environment with multi-site branch office locations. Must have current “hands on” experience installing and configuring network hardware. Experience with support, maintenance, and configuration of Cisco ASAs, Cisco catalyst switches, and Nexus switches. Valid Cisco CCNP is required. Proficient with

MS Office Suite:

Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Visio. Experience with network security, Checkpoint Firewalls, and Cisco ASA devices. Experience with Software Defined Wide Area Networking (SD WAN). Experience with IPSEC multi-protocol network experience. Experience with monitoring and alerting technologies including SNMP, ICMP, NetFlow, and SolarWinds. Experience in hardware provisioning, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Experience with multi-cloud, Azure, or AWS networking.

Preferred Qualifications & Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience with Cisco wireless technologies a plus. Experience with Checkpoint firewalls a plus.

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
