Job Description

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Desktop Support technician for a 6-month contract to hire position. This will be an on-site role in Ft. Myers, FL with a very reputable Organization!

Description:

This person will be providing services to the existing employees and executives at the organization. They will work through tickets for any hardware/software issues, assisting with new hires, installing equipment, troubleshooting M365 issues, working with network teams, active directory, remote support etc. . It is a Windows environment so they will be managing Windows 10 desktops and other Microsoft Applications such as M365 suite. This person will be using active directory very heavily for password resets, permission reviews, permissions logs, and looking at last log in times. The position is very customer facing so being professional is very important. This person will be reporting to one main site, but will have a few locations within the area they will be supporting.(typically up to a 40 mile radius, additional locations include Ft. Myers, North Ft. Myers and Cape Coral). There will be a weekly/bi-weekly site visit schedule, as well as if there is an emergency at one of the other locations, this technician may be asked to travel to the site to resolve the issue on site(mileage reimbursement will be provided for any driving done between locations during work hours)

Supplementary Responsibilities Include:
  • Install and test computer hardware and software including laptops, desktops, printers, monitors, application software, etc.
  • Assist departments with mobile technology support including tablets, smartphones, etc.
  • Serve as a conduit to help escalate technology issues and concerns to the assigned technician/counterparts within the organization.
  • Assist with system and network issues as defined by the organization’s IT team.
  • As needed, maintain inventory of workstations and associated equipment; assist in identifying equipment that may require upgrade.
  • Assist with IT projects as assigned by IT management (including relocating IT inventory, PC refresh etc.

) Current tools/technologies in their environment: Manage engine desktop central for imaging, citrix, , global protect vpn, direct access vpn, ticketing system

Skills & Qualifications:

2-5 years of hands-on IT support (desktop support/pc tech work) and proven experience documenting ticket detail to support development of knowledge-based articles. Experience supporting/troubleshooting Windows 10 OS environment, and troubleshooting M365 issues. Great customer service and interpersonal skills(Experience interfacing with end users and walking them through how they fixed their issue).
