Lee County Mosquito Control District is seeking a dedicated End User Support Specialist to join our IT support team and deliver exceptional technical assistance to our employees. You’ll collaborate with IT professionals to maintain and enhance our technology infrastructure while supporting users in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Position Summary:

The End User Support Specialist is the first point of contact for resolving user issues, offering support via various channels like phone, email, and in-person interactions. This role is responsible for providing technical assistance and troubleshooting to users of computer systems, software, and hardware to ensure seamless technology experiences.

Essential Functions:

Responds promptly to end-user support requests via phone, email, or in-person, ensuring timely resolution Diagnoses and troubleshoots hardware, software, and network issues on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices Installs, configures, and maintains Microsoft Windows systems, ensuring optimal performance Provides expert support for Microsoft Office Suite, collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams), and enterprise applications Assists with employee onboarding and offboarding, including account setup and device configuration Documents support procedures and contribute to a comprehensive knowledge base Collaborates with IT team members to resolve complex technical issues efficiently Maintains an accurate inventory of IT equipment and software licenses Ensures compliance with IT policies, security standards, and best practices Trains and guide users on new systems, software, and technologies to enhance productivity Documents support requests, resolutions, and security incidents All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience required. 4+ years of experience in a technical support or helpdesk role required. Strong expertise in Windows operating systems. Proficiency with mobile operating systems (iOS and Android). In-depth knowledge of collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams). Experience with automated deployment tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Meraki MDM). Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common enterprise applications. Hands-on experience with remote support tools and helpdesk ticketing systems. Basic understanding of networking concepts, Wi-Fi networks, and Active Directory. Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft, ITIL) are preferred. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication, with a focus on clear, user-friendly explanations. Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to service excellence. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed. Must have the ability to work an irregular schedule occasionally to accommodate periodic system updates/upgrades, maintenance and/or emergency needs Must have a valid Class E Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record Must pass the CORE and Public Health exams within six months of hire and be able to maintain certification by earning appropriate CEU’s (continuing education units)

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

Moderate physical activity is required on a regular basis including lifting up to fifty pounds while moving computers and other equipment, reaching and pulling with arms, using hands and fingers to type, standing, sitting, walking and climbing stairs. Excellent vision, both close and distance, is required frequently.

Work Environment:

The work environment varies but normally is an office, but could occasionally include laboratories, warehouses, workshops, airplane hangars and vehicles. Occasional local travel is required. Noise levels are usually low but occasional exposure to moderate noise levels may be required when around aircraft. Working around chemicals, which are stored, handled, applied/used and disposed of according to exact labeling instructions, is required occasionally. $25.88 – $30.21 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.00 per week
