Job Summary:

As an IT Technician at Modern Tek Solutions, you’ll play a vital role in supporting both internal systems and client environments. This hands-on position is ideal for a motivated and technically curious individual looking to grow their skill set. You’ll be responsible for handling front-line technical support, assisting with installations and system configurations, and participating in field deployments. You’ll work closely under the guidance of the IT Lead and support a wide variety of tasks — from desktop support to helping build and maintain complex networks. This role offers a unique opportunity to build real-world experience in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide first-level technical support for internal staff and clients via phone, remote tools, or in-person service 2. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices 3. Assist in the installation and configuration of computers, network equipment, VoIP systems, cameras, and audio/visual hardware 4. Support field projects such as network setups, Wi-Fi deployments, server installations, and surveillance integrations 5. Participate in structured cabling and low-voltage terminations as needed for crossover projects 6. Perform routine maintenance including operating system updates, antivirus management, and backup verification 7. Maintain clear and accurate records of support requests, system configurations, and technical resolutions 8. Help manage IT inventory, tools, and hardware lifecycle tracking 9. Escalate complex issues to the IT Lead with proper documentation and troubleshooting steps taken 10. Stay engaged with current industry tools and best practices to support continuous improvement

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree, technical school, or certifications preferred 2. 1-3 years of experience in a technical support, help desk, or IT assistant role 3. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows OS, networking basics, and general hardware/software troubleshooting 4. Willingness to work across both office and field environments as needed 5. Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude 6. Ability to follow directions, work independently, and remain adaptable in changing conditions 7. Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or vendor-specific credentials are a plus

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. 2. Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights. 3. Able to walk, stand, bend, and move for extended periods of time, both indoors and outdoors. 4. Ability to work in high-temperature environments during Florida summers.
