The

FAMU DRS

Computer Support Specialist is the technical assistant possessing a strong foundation in computer networking, classroom set-up, internet networking/accessibility, and keeping systems operational (troubleshooting); Maintains school technology inventory; Assigns and affixes tags on school property; Receives and relocates property; Provides media assistance as it relates to video assistance/satellite links; Responsible for setting up the public address system for all school-wide functions; Provides technical assistance to teachers, staff, and students on DRS campus; Serves as liaison for DRS when working with the University IT department. Responsibilities Provide technical support for computer hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolution. Knowledge of data processing equipment, operations, procedures, and workflow. Knowledge of office automation operations and equipment. Ability to determine mainframe computing needs of departmental users. Ability to develop user specifications. Ability to test computer programs and systems. Must be able to work independently, set goals, and prioritize workload. Collaborate with team members to develop solutions for complex networking challenges. Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to faculty and staff inquiries and providing clear guidance. Qualifications Proficiency in computer networking concepts and practices. Strong understanding of Windows Server environments and management. Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to diagnose technical issues effectively. Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Job Types:
Full-time, Contract Pay:

$18.00 – $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
