We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced IT Patch Implementor Specialist to join our team for a 12-month contract. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in patch management within IT operations, and a thorough understanding of Windows and Linux environments. This position is onsite in either Miami, FL or Juno Beach, FL .
Responsibilities:
Patch and Package Management Create and deploy packages for Microsoft and Red Hat operating systems. Develop software upgrade packages for workstations, servers, and virtual desktops. Patch Deployment Deploy authorized versions and patches in a highly regulated enterprise environment. Use deployment tools such as BigFix , Tanium , SCCM , or WSUS . Customize deployment actions based on system requirements (e.g., reboot, no reboot, notification before reboot). Monitoring and Assessment Regularly monitor systems for vulnerabilities. Ensure timely application of patches to mitigate security risks. Testing and Validation Test patches in a controlled/staging environment prior to full deployment. Validate compatibility and system stability. Documentation and Compliance Maintain accurate records of all patches deployed, including systems affected, update details, and issues encountered. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Process Improvement Identify inefficiencies in patching workflows and suggest areas for automation. Streamline procedures to reduce downtime and improve reliability. Troubleshooting and Support Investigate and resolve patching failures or deployment issues. Collaborate with IT support teams to ensure minimal disruption. Team Collaboration Work closely with network, server, and application teams to coordinate patching efforts. Communicate effectively across departments to support infrastructure health and compliance.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in patch management or a similar IT operations role. Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux (Red Hat) operating systems. Hands-on experience with BigFix , Tanium , SCCM , and/or WSUS . Understanding of patch deployment strategies and tools. Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and patch management’s role in risk mitigation. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
