Description About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established organization based in Coral Gables, FL, is seeking a Temporary IT Security Engineer to support its cybersecurity operations and compliance initiatives. This contract position is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong technical skills in network security, compliance, and cloud infrastructure. Key Responsibilities + Monitor network activity using SIEM tools (e.g., Trellix, AlienVault) to detect and respond to alerts. + Investigate suspicious behavior from IDS/IPS, antivirus, firewalls, and endpoint protection systems. + Perform vulnerability scanning and collaborate with teams to resolve findings. + Manage user access controls, permissions, MFA, and enforce password policies. + Conduct forensic analysis and root cause investigations; document all security incidents. + Assist with timely deployment of system and application patches. + Support compliance efforts related to

ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, SOC

2, and GDPR. + Help design and maintain secure architectures across Azure, on-prem, and hybrid environments. + Develop and maintain security configurations across infrastructure. + Contribute to the development of AI-driven monitoring and SOAR-based response solutions. + Implement zero-trust security principles and network segmentation. + Train technical and non-technical staff on cybersecurity protocols. + Support integration of physical security systems (card readers, surveillance, alarms). + Coordinate with internal teams to deploy secure updates with minimal downtime. + Triage and resolve issues submitted through JIRA. + Collaborate with business stakeholders to close compliance gaps. + Support secure implementation of financial applications such as T24. Requirements Candidate Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience/training. + 2-5 years in IT or information security roles. + Experience with security audits, penetration testing, and industry frameworks (ISO, NIST, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2). + Strong foundation in networking: TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and routing/switching. + Proficiency securing Windows, Linux, and macOS systems. + Experience with: + SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) + Firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto) + Endpoint protection platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, Symantec) + Vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus, Qualys) + Familiarity with PKI, SSL/TLS, MFA, and SSO. + Scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or JavaScript. + Solid understanding of Azure cloud security (AWS/GCP a plus). + Incident response and forensic analysis experience. + Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred to communicate with overseas offices.
